Privacy policy
PickMall helps you find the mall in Malaysia that has the most of the stores you shop. It is built to work without knowing who you are. This policy covers the PickMall apps for iPhone and Android and this website.
The short version
- The apps have no account, no sign-up and no ads.
- If you join the launch list on this website, we keep your email address only to tell you when PickMall is out.
- We don't run analytics or tracking, and we don't sell or share personal data.
- Your picks, favourite brands and saved lists stay on your phone.
- Location is optional. It only sorts malls by distance, on your phone, and is never sent to us.
What stays on your phone
The brands you pick, the favourites you choose, the lists you save and whether you have seen the welcome screen are stored on your device only. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Location
If you allow it, the app uses your approximate location while it is open to sort malls by distance and to show where you are on the map. The app only asks once you start picking brands, and everything works without it. Your location is not sent to us or stored by us. You can turn it off at any time in your phone's settings.
What the app downloads
To stay up to date, the app downloads the public list of malls, brands and stores from our server, which is hosted by Cloudflare. These requests carry no account, identifier or location. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the files and to protect the service, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't use those logs to identify anyone.
Maps
The map on iPhone is provided by Apple Maps and on Android by Google Maps. When the map loads, your phone contacts Apple or Google directly, under Apple's privacy policy or Google's privacy policy.
This website
pickmall.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
The launch list
If you leave your email on pickmall.app, we store that address, the date you joined and which form you used, in a database hosted by Cloudflare. We use it for one thing: to email you when PickMall is available in the App Store and Google Play. We don't share it, sell it or add you to anything else.
We delete the list after the launch email has gone out. To be removed sooner, email [email protected] from that address and we'll delete it.
Children
PickMall is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
The apps hold no personal data about you. If you joined the launch list, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete your email address. For that, or any question about privacy, including under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, email [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that affects your data will also be noted in the app's release notes.
